The Nuclear Region of NGC 1365: Star Formation, Negative Feedback, and Outflow Structure

چکیده

Abstract High-resolution observations of ionized and molecular gas in the nuclear regions galaxies are indispensable for delineating interplay star formation, gaseous inflows, stellar radiation, feedback processes. Combining our new Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array band 3 mapping archival Very Telescope/MUSE data, we present a spatially resolved analysis central 5.4 kpc region NGC 1365. We find formation rate/efficiency (SFR/SFE) inner circumnuclear ring is about 0.4/1.1 dex higher than outer regions. At linear resolution 180 pc, obtain superlinear Kennicutt–Schmidt law, demonstrating steeper slope (1.96 ± 0.14) previous results presumably based on lower-resolution observations. Compared to northeastern counterpart, southwestern dust lane shows lower SFE, but denser larger virial parameters. This consistent with an interpretation negative from active galactic nucleus (AGN) and/or starburst, sense that radiation/winds can heat interact even relatively dense After subtracting circular motion component rotation, detect two prominent noncircular components hydrogen gas, reaching line-of-sight velocity up 100 km s ?1 . conclude winds or shocked AGN may expel low-density diffuse surface rotating disk.

Nuclear star formation in NGC 6240

We have made use of archival HST BVIJH photometry to constrain the nature of the three discrete sources, A1, A2 and B1, identified in the double nucleus of NGC 6240. STARBURST99 models have been fitted to the observed colours, under the assumption, first, that these sources can be treated as star clusters (i.e. single, instantaneous episodes of star formation), and subsequently as star-forming ...

The ROSAT view of NGC 1365 and the luminous highly variable off-nuclear X-ray source NGC 1365–X1

We present an X-ray spectral and spatial analysis of the composite starburst/Seyfert galaxy NGC1365. Excellent fits of the ROSAT PSPC spectrum are obtained by combining a soft thermal component with a hard powerlaw. The hard component may be either seen directly or can be explained by scattering of the AGN powerlaw at circumnuclear warm high-column-density gas. A compilation of the multi-wavele...

Imaging the Circumnuclear Region of NGC 1365 with Chandra

We present the first Chandra/ACIS imaging study of the circumnuclear region of the nearby Seyfert galaxy NGC 1365. The X-ray emission is resolved into point-like sources and complex, extended emission. The X-ray morphology of the extended emission shows a biconical soft X-ray emission region extending ∼5 kpc in projection from the nucleus, coincident with the high excitation outflow cones seen ...

Nuclear star formation in the hot - spot galaxy NGC 2903

We present high-resolution near-infrared imaging obtained using adaptive optics and HST/NICMOS, and ground-based spectroscopy of the hot-spot galaxy NGC 2903. Our near-infrared resolution imaging enables us to resolve the infrared hot spots into individual young stellar clusters or groups of these. The spatial distribution of the stellar clusters is not coincident with that of the bright H ii r...
